Community visits

The tamariki and kaiako at Feilding Kindergarten have been enjoying visiting our local shopping centers and giving gifts to our local business. Through teaching kindness the tamariki have been busy painting pictures, potting flowers and baking morning tea snacks. We have gifted these to the staff working in the local shops.

Dominoes Game
Dominoes Game

During our first week at Feilding Kindergarten at Covid-19 Alert Level 3, we decided to make a colourful painted rocks dominoes game to play with all our friends when they return to kindergarten.  Our two tamariki/children chose to paint rocks to take home, while our teachers Jocelyn and Natalie painted the dominoes.   Today we tried out the dominoes game.

Our recent post about our kindergarten turtles, Russell and Emma, brought back lots of memories for teachers.  Well, do we have a surprise for you!  Russell was very determined to get out of the trough on the grass and strode over to the sandpit.  After lifting Russell into the sandpit, Russell immediately began to dig a hole.

Our resident turtles Russel and Emma help us learn how to care for the wonderful small creatures of our world. Russell and Emma have been at kindergarten for many years now and they have grown quite big.

We added paper machine tape to the outside environment….with children calling it “hot lava lines”. They were the ones that made the rules of the game….you only go under it….you can’t touch it…or you can go around it.

Keep Feilding Beautiful’s Russell Parker recently presented Feilding Kindergarten with an apple tree, an appropriate prize for the kindergarten’s winning entry into the Manawatu Garden Festival’s school competition. For the South American themed hat display, the kindergarten created a paper mache cactus, adjourned with colourful sombreros.

Christmas is a time when people from all walks of life can come together to celebrate. With the big day approaching, and Feilding Kindergarten children beginning to itch with excitement, an end-of-year Christmas party was thrown. The event was fabulous, with a great turnout of current and past families, and even extended whanau who came to share in the evening's festivities.
